Campbell Walker

Campbell Walker graduated from Auckland University in 1992 with an LL.B. (Hons.) and a B.A., majoring in Latin. He won numerous scholarships and prizes, including the Kensington Swan and Sir Alexander Johnstone Scholarships as the best law student at Auckland University and the Cleary Memorial Prize as the most promising lawyer admitted to the New Zealand bar. Campbell began practice at Kensington Swan before serving as a judges' clerk at the New Zealand Court of Appeal from 1993 to 1994. He then took his LL.M. at Yale University and his Ph.D. in law at Cambridge University, as a W. M. Tapp scholar, where he won the Yorke Prize for the best doctoral thesis in law. From 1998 to 2003, he was an associate of Shearman & Sterling LLP, based in their Paris office and specialising in international arbitration. He has acted for a wide range of clients in construction, shipping, energy, post-merger and acquisition, and fraud disputes. He has written two books and published several articles on law.
